Alex 's Bio

I grew up in Rhode Island. I am a meteorology major, but I am contemplating a switch to sports journalism. I will be the Editor-in-Chief of TheObserver come fall but for now I am just the Sports Editor.I have always been a a diehard Red Sox fan but I also have been a Tampa Bay Rays fan for about 7 years now... definatly not a band wagon fan ask my friends they are sick of me praising a young farm system..I have worked for a news station WPRI Providence, I love sports talk radio alot more than television though, something about The Big Show with the Big O, you Boston people get it .... As far as football goes...It is not a sport it is religion..Go Patriots!

2009 is start of new champions and a year of changes...I am going to predict a 15-1 season by the Patriots and a 100-62 season for the Red Sox...Boston will become the sports capital of the world once again!!! Bruins and Celtics look hot, but I am unsure of championships.

Follow me via The Red Sox Report on Twitter: www.twitter.com/theredsoxreport

I have been recinginezed on numerious sports sites for my work with the Red Sox and Patriots 2008 season's

Add me on myspace: www.myspace.com/apotter311

or Let's Talk via AIM: firststraw311 Let's discuss the game last night or any opposing views about my articles.I am still looking for someone who actually can talk sports for real with me!

  4. Hey Alex,

Lou Gehrig has somehow been forgotten amongst the game’s immortals, even though he was possibly even more of a reason for the success of Ruth’s 1927 Yankees. Read about the quiet, forgotten leader of “Murderer’s Row,” Henry Lou Gehrig.

  6. Alex,

Taking into account all the great players the Red Sox have had in their long history of being around, how do you think their all-time starting lineup would shape up?

  8. Alex,

You already may know that many great athletes have gone from Minnesota to Boston at one point in their careers and either emerged as superstars or brought their stardom to the next level. Check out some of the best athletes who started their careers in Minnesota to only end up suiting up for Boston in the end.

  9. Alex,

With their first round draft choice in 2008, the Red Sox took pitcher/shortstop hybrid Casey Kelly. He is one of the more interesting guys in the Sox minor league system, and I would greatly appreciate it if you let me know what you think.
