About Brandon »

My name is Brandon. I currently live in Lawrence, Kansas. I grew up in Iowa and later moved to Kansas, where I finished high school, and graduated from the University of Kansas. I majored in Political Science and History which helped me a job on the legislative staff of a prominent member of the U.S. Senate. I am a huge sports fan, hailing from Iowa, I did not have local teams to root for, and my family was a Minnesota sports family, so I have forever been a Twins and Vikings fan.

Aside from being a huge Twins and Vikings fanatic, I am a fan of all sports. With Kansas as my alma mater, college basketball is a huge part of my life, but I love KU football as well. The 2008 season for Kansas Football and Basketball, where an Orange Bowl and National Championship were won probably ranks as the best few months as a sports fan.

Aside from Kansas athletics I am also a soccer goon. I've followed Manchester United since 1999. I watch every game, follow the team as closely as any American possibly could. In the NBA my team is the Phoenix Suns. Many members of my family have lived or are living in the Phoenix area, and thus the Suns have been my staple NBA franchise.

My time in DC let the sport of hockey grow on me to a point where I now follow the Capitals progress and watch as many games as I possibly can, usually streaming the games on the computer. I never knew I would grow to love the sport as much as I do!

I've been on bleacher report for about a year and I love writing about my teams. I am pretty opinionated when it comes to my teams, so B/R is the best place to get my feelings about them off of my chest. Starting in the 2009/2010 Men's College Basketball season, I will be contributing a great deal to Kansas Basketball. I look forward to following the team and opining on various things throughout the season!

    Hey Brandon.

The season's half way mark has been passed, and spurred on by a comment by Nathan Lowe I've written an article reviewing Berbatov's progress so far this season, and debate about whether he's got what it takes to replace Carlos Tevez:

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/108119-20082009-the-season-so-far-dimitar-berbatov-and-carlos-tevez/

I put a lot of work into it, and would really appreciate it if you gave it a read.

    Regards,
    Steven
