Brian's Bio

I am a 19 year old sophmore at Temple University in the great city of... Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I am a Secondary Education major with a dual major in Social Studies with a double major in American History, with a minor maybe in Sports Journalism. Big time Phillies, Flyers and Eagles fan. I contribute to the Temple Column (Temple University Ambler Campus' student run newspaper) as a Sports Writer.

I have been a Phillies fan since birth. 1991 was my very first game, and have been going to Phillies games ever since. Don't call me a bandwagon jumper, either. I know more history about the Phillies than most normal fans even know about.

I also write on a Philly sports related blog called Philly Phans 4 Life:
Located here at this website:

Just call me B-Mac.

And remember: you can never go wrong with a Canadian as your ice hockey expert on your blog.

Gretzky. I got to give props to my Canadian friends here or else.

  • Pele or Maradona?

What's that you say? Madonna? Man this is confusing

  • Federer or Sampras?

I used to live near Ellsworth-Federal subway station. Wait... what's that you say? Federer you say? Oh, sorry I don't like tennis

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

I like Jack Nickolson. Wait we are talking about the funny devil-looking guy right? No you say? Jack Nicklaus the golfer you say?

  • Petty or Earnhardt?

I like Tom Petty. Wait we are talking about the musician right? No you say? Richard Petty the NASCAR driver?

  • Schumacher or Senna?

I once knew a Shoe Maker. Stop confusing me!

  • Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

    A-10

  1. Brian,

I thought you might like this piece. It’s not just your standard “breaking news” piece about a trade, although it does note the trade of Jeremy Hermida from the Florida Marlins to the Boston Red Sox. Let me know what you think in the comments section.

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/285981-unrealized-potential-florida-marlins-trade-jeremy-hermida-to-boston

    Thanks,

    Daniel Barber aka Hotnuke

  2. Brad Lidge, Brian Fuentes, Jonathan Broxton, and Mariano Rivera got it done.

Huston Street, Jonathan Papelbon, Ryan Franklin, and Joe Nathan did not.

The first four will be playing in the next round. The last four will not.

I think that's proof just how important closers are to their respective teams in the playoffs...

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/271105-reviewing-the-importance-of-playoff-closers-pt-2

  3. You know what... do teams really need a great closer to win the World Series?

    Yes. Unfortunately for my Phillies...

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/267053-does-a-team-really-need-a-dominant-closer-to-win-the-world-series

  4. The NY Yankees and the media are trying to manipulate you.

Yankee propaganda must be exposed as lies and crushed before it can spread any further.

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/261540-exposing-the-ny-yankee-propaganda-machine

  5. Q: Why does Fedor Emelianko fear the UFC?

A: Because he is a Sissy!

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/244769-fedor-emelianko-the-sissy-who-fears-the-ufc

    Check it out.

  6. Former MLB player Eric Karros called my article into question on Colin Cowherd's ESPN Radio show yesterday.

He challenged me for a re-do: but here's my response.

I assure you, it's not just a ridiculous personal attack, but it shows that Karros was off-base with his statements.

  7. Hello Brian, I would like you to take a look at this article and leave your support in the comment area. I would love to see this story make a difference. Pass it around! Thanks

  8. The Yankees have put together an unbelievable streak of magical wins, but is Yankee Stadium and its short right field porch New York’s “magic wand?” Can sitting back and waiting for a solo HR really translate to October success?

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/234903-yankees-late-inning-home-run-magic-simply-a-bronx-illusion

Thanks in advance! I would love to hear your feedback and comments. Take care.

  9. The new Yankee Stadium had been criticized for its lack of intensity and electricity in the early months of the season, but this weekend’s series against the Red Sox finally make a familiar place seem like HOME.

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/233643-yankees-turn-familiar-confines-address-of-yankee-stadium-into-home

Thanks in advance, and I would look to hear your opinions and feedback. Take care.

  10. Hey,
I'm not usually one to advertise and spam on bulletin boards, but I think this time an exception can be made. Because Harry Kalas is an exception to just about anything.

Tonight the Phillies honored Harry in grand style, inducting him into their Wall of Fame. I payed tribute to the great man here: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/232075-honoring-a-legend

The point of writing the column was to promote even more discussion and memory in the comments section. Please join me in remembering Harry Kalas.

  11. Yankee fans rooting for the Red Sox? Has hell frozen over, or is there a rational thought process at the root of it all. Read why it is ok for you to root for Boston on select occasions without feeling like Benedict Arnold.

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/230865-backing-the-enemy-yankee-fans-face-dilemma-when-sox-play-rays-rangers

Thanks in Advance! I would love to hear your feedback.

  12. A couple of weeks ago, I wrote The Year Too Early NFL All-Decade Team.

This is its baseball counterpart, The Half of a Year Too Early MLB All-Decade Team, and my 100th article here on Bleacher Report.

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/230228-the-half-of-a-year-too-early-mlb-all-decade-team
