  Dear Mr. Seals,
  
  I am a professor of Theatre Arts at Pitt. With another local playwright (Mark Southers, who is black; I am white), I am writing a play about the Jonny Gammage case of 1995, which remains a symbol of Pittsburgh's lingering problems with race. If at all possible, we would like to interview you, as our play will rely heavily on the actual words of individuals involved in the case, as well as on trial transcripts.
