Do you bleed Crimson and Gray? Well, I and my family do. I’m a 1974 ‘ticket holding’ Communications/Broadcasting WSU alum who is lucky enough to live within a few hours of the campus, which allows me to attend most all home football games, and a few basketball and baseball games when the occasion presents itself. My wife and both kids are Cougs grads – wife, Penny, in Business, daughter, Courtney (Phoenix) in Communications and son, Brent, attending as a senior in Digital Media. As you can tell from this short epistle, I’m quite proud of my family and being a Coug. Hope to see you at the next home game! I’ll be the one wearing the Crimson and Gray hat with ‘Cougars’ emblazoned on the front. (P.S. Please don’t wear purple around me.)
Thanks for the POTD! Not only am I honored, it will give the article a boost on the college football story list. Getting a few positive comments out there on our Cougs can't hurt a thing.
Glad we have a bye week to get some guys healed up before heading into the last five games of the season.
I'm with Coach Wulff in believing we can win three of the last five games. And if we don't, lessons will be learned along the way.
It's an honor to be added to your list of favorite writers. Thanks so much.
Reading your bio, it appears that you were just a year behind me in Pullman. I graduated in '73, the first official event in Beasley Coliseum. We had to walk across dirt to get in. The parking lot was not finished at that point. Exactly 25 years later, my oldest son graduated in the same place. Somehow I went wrong with the other three kids.
Remember Ken Grandberry, Ty Paine and Bernard Jackson? Joe Albi Stadium? Ratskeller's? The Spruce? OK, you're right. It's fortunate if there are recollections of what happened yesterday.
If you remember the Hilltop, that was my first career opportunity. Was Asst. GM for a year after graduating. Left Pullman in '74 to seek fame and fortune beyond the confines of Whitman County. Not the most brilliant decision I've ever made!
Its great to hear that Geoff! Yes I am super pumped to go to WSU to pursue a career in journalism. I will take what you said greatly into consideration and will be at the football games with pen in hand! I cannot wait to be a Coug!
I just wanted to let you know that Bleacher Report has launched out of beta with an updated look and feel and some great new features. Check out the "Game On" link in the header to find out more.
Next week we'll be launching the site to the world with some public announcements—and it'd be great to get a contribution from you between now and Tuesday to make Bleacher Report's launch a success.
Let me know if you need any help with ideas or have questions. Have a great weekend Geoff!
