An author, IT guy and long time baseball and football fan. When the spirit moves me I scribble some barely coherent nonsense about sports. Mike Lupica... watch out!
I have four published novels available at bookstores, Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Check out Sands of Time, Towering Pines Volume One: Room 509, Philadelphia Story, The Insider's Story and The Star of Christmas at my website (bruceasarte.com) or my publisher (buckscountypublishing.com).
I'm very passionate and interactive. I write what I believe and back it up with facts. If you agree with me, great... if you don't that's good too -- please say so. Be prepared to defend your position, I will defend mine with everything I have. When I'm wrong, I'll admit it... even if I don't agree with you. If all you want to do is object to my position with name calling and rude comments, I can do without it and will not respond to it.
Let's be respectful of one another!
Hi Bruce, Just to show that it really is just Tiger's actions of the last couple of month's that have turned me against him, here is a piece I wrote after his initial media statement
Thanks for the civil discussion - not everyone has managed to exchange ideas without the exchange collapsing into personal attacks. I enjoyed the exchange. Cheers.
I have just finished the tenth installment in my series running down who I feel are the top ten players in the history of each MLB frannchise. The most recent one is on the Royals, take a look when you get a chance and let me know what you think of my choices.
thanks for the "like", Bruce - any comments you'd like to add?
It is not too late to make a difference!
You can help. Please give a read and "pay this forward" Some things are bigger than sports.
Yeah, the Royals are in first place right now. But are they a contender or a pretender? Check out my Division Leader Contenders/Pretenders piece and see what you think.
Hey Bruce, I was just wondering if you got Nino's email, and what your thoughts were on the "debate."
Any tips or ideas on how we should do this?
Attention Community Leader,
If you are getting this message, it's for one of a few reasons. Earlier this week I sent out a mass e-mail to all CL's. If you did not get this message, please post on my board and let me know. You either A)haven't checked your e-mail, B)just haven't replied or C)changed your e-mail from the last time I was updated, D) or something really odd happened to where you didn't get it (I've double and triple checked my names and e-mails, while possible, not sure how likely).
If you are not planning on returning as a Community Leader this 2009 season, it's important that you let me know. Either way, returning or not, either reply to my e-mail or post on my board. Spring Training is inching ever so-close, and it's important we know who is in and who's not so we can get the ball rolling.
If you do not reply to my e-mail or post a message on my board rather soon, I'm going to assume (provided there is a reason for an extended absence) that you no longer have the time and or desire to be a CL or you've left the site completely.
I want to connect a few of the top baseball writers on BR and ask them who they think will win the world series, can you tell me your opinion on who is going to win the world series this year,PLZ Emil me the answer at
with your pick and a few words about it.
Just a note to all community leaders. I'm trying to collect e-mails. I have most of them from when we did the awards, but If it's changed since then, or you are new to the team, make sure we're cool on the e-mail.
With Free Agency starting tomorrow, we should probably be thinking offseason plans. I encourage everyone to put up some sort of preview for their own team. Highlight some needs, maybe look at who your team has on the market, or potential targets. If enough people get in on it, I'll post a collective article to highlight everyone's work.
If your a new community leader, welcome aboard. If you've been around, make sure you go around, become a fan of some of the other CL's and support each other. We're a team here!
Bruce, I do not have your e-mail.
btw...wasn't "Sands of Time" also the title of a novel by Sidney Sheldon back in 1988?
