One day, I'd really love to write a book detailing the first decade of following sports I can remember in it's entirety. Between 2000 and 2009, I experienced the highs and lows of the Mets, Knicks, Jets and Syracuse Orange, with the lone championship being the 2003 title Syracuse won- two years before I was enrolled as a student and 2 years before I genuinely cared about them. I've been an absolute die-hard sports fan since I was 9 and for more than 15 years I've struggled to rationalize how I put myself through season after season of disappointment. Along the way, I've spent thousands upon thousands of dollars going to games while losing what I would imagine to be years of my life watching, listening, talking and thinking about sports. Having said all that, I wouldn't go back and change a thing, and look forward to the day I can laugh at how hopeless I am that I will one day experience the unbridled joy of seeing a team of mine win a championship. Until then, I'll just keep watching, listening, talking and thinking about it. Oh, and of course, writing about it too.
