I am from Calcutta (India), and have been sports-crazy since the age of 6. I have no formal background in any form of writing, except for countless boring finance-related reports I have written over the past 12 years, first as an auditor and then as a consultant. And another 100 during my MBA!!

Football (soccer) is my favorite sport, and as is amply evident, I support Arsenal. Alright, alright, have it your way - I worship Arsenal. Got the bug from my Dad, who has supported the Gunners since the days of Denis and Leslie Compton in the 1940s. I also follow the lower leagues in England (where I particularly look out for the results of Morecambe and Northampton Town - having worked at both these locations) and maintain more than a passing interest in the Spanish, Italian, Scottish, German and French leagues. And just to make it clear, I can't wait for the proposed financial fair play laws to kick in (there you go, another disgruntled Gooner)!

I watch a lot of cricket as well (I guess that's as much an Indian trait as the accent), and some tennis, golf, badminton, rugby and field hockey too. WWE is my poison....

Having spent a few years working in the US, I guess I just had to adopt some local sporting tastes. So I added basketball, baseball and football (field hockey is THE only hockey!!), and I keep abreast with all the scores and stats on a daily basis.

And finally, I had to jump on the Twitter bandwagon as well (@ratanpostwalla), where I am trying to convince myself to say more than a few words every once in a while....

So I suppose you're gonna ask me THAT question too: "When do you find the time to work??"
