Joseph's Bio

Joseph Lupoli resides with his wife in New Jersey. He is a U.S. Army veteran who has over thirty-five years of martial arts experience. Joseph is not interested in discussing which forms of martial arts he has studied or what ranks he has earned.

He, instead, prefers to post and write articles about MMA and related topics. Joseph is a published writer, having penned fiction and non fiction short stories and magazine articles.

He is currently working on his second full length non-fiction book titled, "The Climb." His first book drew so many rejections that he had enough fireplace kindle to last him two winters. (Hey, that's nothing to sneeze at!) In fact, about ninety-eight percent of Joseph's original stories have been rejected by numerous agents and publishers.
Joseph is a year-round counselor for developmentally disabled children and adults. He is also a sports coach for developmentally disabled private clients.

Joseph is a former two-time lightweight pro arm-wrestling State and Middle Atlantic States champion. (It's the silliest sport in the world). His favorite hobbies are playing tennis and opening his AARP mail.

Joseph Writes About

The Short List What Joseph thinks about sport's most pressing questions

  • Favorite Athletes

The guy who cleans the blood off of the MMA cage surface. That's bravery!

  • Favorite Sports Teams

    The Sicilian Curling team.

  • Favorite Coaches

The older woman I met as a kid.

  • All Time Sports Moment

I was too damn drunk to remember.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

The RSR finals was very gripping. (Rock'em, Sock'em Robots, that is.)

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

My grammar school spitball indoor distance record.

  • Ruth or Mays?

That 44-year-old Jose dude who got smashed by that giant dude in MMA.

  • Unitas or Montana?

Can they throw throw those little footballs that you buy at the Dollar Store?

  • Jordan or Russell?

I think that Russell actually dribbled the ball on his drives to the hole.

  • Gretzky or Orr?

Gretzky had his hired goons to fight for him. Orr did all that stuff himself.

  • Pele or Maradona?

    Mia Hamm

  • Federer or Sampras?

I flipped a coin on that one. It landed on its edge--5-times in a row.

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

The Chinese Horoscope vs. Santa Clause? Santa is great in bad whether.

  • Petty or Earnhardt?

Carlo Gambino would have had them both on his short-leash. That means, who cares?

  • Schumacher or Senna?

In what? A jockey race? Or do the horses race---with the jockeys on them?

  • Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

They sound like CIA run prisons. And the term, Big Ten, sure doesn't apply to me!

  3. Wow Joseph, that FFC article was awesome! I especially like the banana bread line and the La-Z-Boy recliners in the corner. Good stuff!

  4. Joe,

My article on George St. Pierre actually made it up on Sports Illustrated website for the first time ever! I'm pretty excited about it. I know you typically get a lot of reading in, so maybe you want to catch my little article in all it's glory:

  7. Hey Joseph, thanks for the quick reply. I know nothing about "evans", but I know plenty about her type. Your right- it is probaly a guy, or a group. What they do is simple...scam for money. I have seen this on Face Book, as well, as My Space. I also had a friend who got duped on Yahoo personals. They get some poor soul to think they are interested in them and they start a correspondence. They usually use a picture of a beautiful girl which gets those poor lonely souls interested. They very quickly, "fall in love" and can't wait to see you. But, they need $$$$ for a plane ticket or some such BS. Anyhow, very sad to see it hit our beloved Bleacher Report, I forwarded the issue to Dave Morrison, but not sure what if anything can be done about it.

  8. Hey Joseph, I saw your comment to "evans" did you get a private message too?

  9. I'm just happy to have been of service!

    Keep the good stuff coming!

  10. No dice yet, Sir... got any connections you want to pass my way?

  11. Exposing The Wackness in MMA

Please comment, rate and leave opinion

  12. OK. Is that six my time or your time? Is this Tuesday?

  13. Hey Joseph. How relevant is GSP in MMA? Id like your thoughts on the topic when you get a chance. Thanks!
