Dan 's Bio

I like doubles hit into the gap, causing players to score from first using gears they didn't know they had. Three-pointers at the buzzer are almost expected but the punt-return-for-touchdown, that's just hilarious. Remember that hockey is more violent than football because they don't HAVE to hit, and everyone from cup-stackers to the hacky sacking elite considers themselves an athlete.

But sport is really about story - because when you care about Joe Touchdown more than your own Auntie, well.. now they've got you. Not that you shouldn't let them. Maybe you just should.

Dan Writes About

The Short List What Dan thinks about sport's most pressing questions

  • Favorite Athletes

Greg Maddux, Derrick Rose, Reed Johnson, Ryan Theriot, Johnathan Toews, Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook, Patrick Kane

  • Favorite Sports Teams

Hawks, Cubs, Bulls, Bears. (...Colorado Rockies, Ottowa Senators, and other teams that have never won)

  • Favorite Coaches

Honestly not really any of them. Phil Jackson, maybe?

  • All Time Sports Moment

Devin Hester returns the opening kickoff of the 2006-7 Super Bowl for a TD. Kerry Wood hits a HR in game 7, 2nd round, 2003. Paxson hits any number of winning shots. The catch - Reed Johnson dives at warning track and crashes into the wall

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

Rich Harden's first game as a Cub - a walk-off, extra-inning win - I was in the bleachers yelling "left field sucks."

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

20-strikeout game, or, most likely, 56 game hitting streak.

  • Ruth or Mays?

    Mantle

  • Unitas or Montana?

    Favre

  • Jordan or Russell?

    Jordan

  • Gretzky or Orr?

I'm a bandwagon fan, so I'm saying Toews

  • Pele or Maradona?

    No contest

  • Federer or Sampras?

    Ana Ivanovic

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

Tiger might be the best at his sport that anybody has ever been at their sport. WITH a broken leg

  • Petty or Earnhardt?

If you like racing, good for you, but cars aren't a sport

  • Schumacher or Senna?

    wtf?

  • Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

    No time for college
