Grew up in New Orleans when the Saints were perennial losers. The Jazz were still in the Big Easy when I was born, but I don't remember them before they left for Salt Lake City. Didn't go to an LSU game until I was 16--one of the great regrets of my early childhood. Attended LSU and graduated with a degree in accounting and 36 hours in political science, but worked in the sports information office and got to go to Omaha with the baseball team. If the CWS ever leaves Omaha, I will never watch it again. Period.
Freelance writer for The Advocate in Baton Rouge for many years, but could not find my way until after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Forced to move to Kansas with my grandfather, but found the job I still have to this day, writing and photographing high school sports across the small towns of Kansas.
