Jacob's Bio

I am a diehard Baltimore Ravens and NFL fan. I love them and the sport. Other than that, I'm a grad student at a Seminary who has no problem separating his faith from his hobbies.

Jacob Writes About

The Short List What Jacob thinks about sport's most pressing questions

  • Favorite Athletes

Michael Phelps, Cal Ripken Jr., Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Brian Roberts, Nick Markakis, Adam Jones, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, Henrik Lundqvist, Joe Flacco

  • Favorite Sports Teams

Baltimore Orioles, Baltimore Ravens, Notre Dame Football, Maryland Basketball, New York Rangers

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

Ravens vs. Broncos, 2000 NFL Wild Card Playoffs in Baltimore. Sitting in the stands on December 31, 2000. I saw Shannon Sharpe catch a deflected pass and race to a TD while Sam Gash trucked the abominable Bill Romanowski. The Ravens won Baltimore's first playoff game since 1971 and were on their way to the Super Bowl. No one can convince me that winning a championship doesn't require at least a little bit of luck because it does.

  • Ruth or Mays?

Ruth was the greatest slugger, Mays the best all around player. Ruth but its close.

  • Unitas or Montana?

Unitas...Baltimore homerism. But I love Joe Montana.

  • Jordan or Russell?

Jordan. If Jordan played on teams as talented as Bill Russell's he probably would have won 9 titles too.

  • Gretzky or Orr?

    Gretzky.

  • Pele or Maradona?

    Pele.

  • Federer or Sampras?

    Federer.

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

    Tiger.

  • Petty or Earnhardt?

I hate NASCAR but Earnhardt cuz my grandfather likes him.

  • Schumacher or Senna?

    Don't care.

  • Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

    ACC all the way babay!

I put together an article asking all B/R writers to make a pact to no longer write about the issues of the NFL Off-Season.

Join me in this fight against evil!

  4. Hey Jacob—Jeff here, a Bleacher Report Community Coordinator.

I've been spending time on our Ravens page and read a couple of your old articles. Really on-point analysis...you do good work.

Given that you haven't written in a while, I thought I'd check in and see if you're interested in picking up your coverage again. What do you say?

If not, it would be great if you could give me some feedback on why you decided to stop writing and what we could have done to better serve you. If you wouldn't mind, please shoot me a line at jeff@bleacherreport.com with any thoughts.

    Thanks so much,

    Jeff

  5. Ha, funny you should ask...I had already started it when you asked.

  10. Hey man, enjoyed your article on last night's Phillies game. I wrote on about a week ago on Howard's MVP candidacy. Let me know what you think.
