Anyone interested in getting to know me on a personal level, feel free to inbox me, follow me on twitter (@DerekIsAGooner), or anything like that. I'm not one for bragging about myself too much (which is, after all, what these bios are for), but here is a little bit about me.
I have a Bachelors of Art degree from the University of California of Santa Cruz. I majored in two areas: History of the Americas and Africa and Modern Literature. You, the reader, might not always agree with my opinion, but I assure you at the very least that, based on my strong writing background and education, I will always write my articles in a well spoken, quite legible fashion. At UCSC, I played on the school's baseball team. I pitched and played right field. I never threw the hardest nor ran the fastest, but I swear on this laptop that my curveball will make you shake at the knees.
Growing up near Los Angeles, I naturally became a huge Dodgers fan. There is only one true Los Angeles baseball team after all. I've played baseball all of my life, from tee ball through college. Hell, I even have a tee ball tattoo on my right arm (which is, in itself, another story entirely). I've been to countless Dodger games and I will bleed blue and white until I die.
As a child, my friends and I loved the WWE. We all too often reenacted Swanton Bombs and Pedigrees on many a trampoline and jolly jump. It even cost me a tooth and the straightness of a finger. In more recent years, I discovered a new passion for the WWE and I can call myself, with a strong confidence, a well informed WWE fan. Dolph Ziggler, CM Punk, and Natalya are my personal moments, but I can appreciate anyone who steps in the ring and puts together a solid match.
Last, and most importantly, I am a Gooner. I will be a Gooner until my soul leaves this Earth and I'm buried in the ground, but even then I'll take with me a plaque with victoria concordia crescit enscribed on it. The style in which the Arsenal plays, the clubs dedication to finding young talent, the passion with which the supporters have, the club's illustrious history, and the honor the club brings are all reasons for which I support the club, and for me there is no other club that comes close to rivaling the glory of the Arsenal.
As for anything else about me, I'll let my writing do the talking.
