Tom's Bio
Lifelong Diehard Red Sox fan. One of my earliest memories was the ball going through Buckner's legs in 1986, yet I didn't have to forgive him in 2008 since I never blamed him. McNamara on the other hand will never be forgiven. 2004 is not explainable.
I never liked soccer growing up. Sure I played in a youth league, but who cared? It was soccer! When I moved to Portland though that all changed. The Timber Army's spirit is contagious! Now I find myself lobbying for an MLS team here.

Favorite Athletes
Bird, Williams, Pedroia, Russell, Youkilis (yeah, I'm a bit of a homer), Armstrong, Samuelson... I'd count Ortiz but frankly I don't consider a DH to be an athlete.

Cal Ripkin Jr.'s consecutive game streak. If it is broken, there is no way it will be in my lifetime.

Hey Tom,
Thanks a lot for the pick.
I see that you're a bit of an MLS fan, which is always nice to see! I'm one of the MLS community leaders so I'd like to welcome you to the site and make you aware of the small-but-growing MLS section. We've got some people who really love the game writing over there. Check it out sometime.
Cheers,
Joe
