Michael's Bio

I grew up in northeast Ohio as an avid fan of Cleveland sports. I started to become a fan just as the Browns of the late '80s were losing AFC Championship Games to John Elway and those damn Broncos on a yearly basis. Little did I know then, that I was being setup for what was to continue in the world of Cleveland sports.

It had been going on since 1964. The city was and continues to be without a major sports championship since the 1964 Cleveland Browns. And not only do the local teams not win championships, they lose in excruciating ways that make you believe that there is such a thing as a jinx.

As the Cleveland Indians began their successful run through the '90s in the newly built Jacobs Field, I became a baseball fan at heart. It is really the only sport that I have grown to really care about over the years. It is a perfect game in my book. Thus, I spend my days reading and researching everything I can about the game and the Indians in general.

The more I have become a fan of the game, the more I have wanted to become involved in any capacity.

I started by becoming a member of the Society for American Baseball Research, then became a scoreekeeper for AAA Columbus Clippers games for Baseball Info Solutions, and just this year have decided to make myself even more involved by writing and sharing my thoughts on the game with the ultimate goal of someday making some money. But if that never comes, I am at least having fun doing it.

I'm a Community Leader for the Cleveland Indians page here on Bleacher Report and also am a contributor to SEAMHEADS.com.

Some other not so important information about me, but I like to point out as it relates to the Indians, I'm a graduate of Wright State University in Dayton, OH. Home of All-American Brian Anderson, of Cleveland Indians '97 post-season lore. And I was born in Ashland, OH famous for Matt Underwood, voice of the Indians TV broadcasts:)

  3. Hey Michael-

A second Browns Table this week, which is why you weren't included on #1, this second episode deals with a lot of philosophical questions about the Browns so I wanted to save it for "the big guns"! If you can respond by Sunday, that would be great!

    http://thebrownstable.wufoo.com/forms/the-browns-table/

I know what you are going to say... "No questions about the Coach or QB?!?" Ah, but with the bye week next week I thought that would be a good time to discuss "organizational" issues. Putting that degree to good use, huh?

I'd like to try and post Wednesday as I have been placed in the Bleacher Report "NFL Wirter's Season" and the more days the more reads for me... and I hate to lose! Thanks!

  7. Hey Michael, how's the new job holding up?

I know your busy, and because I already have your e-mail I haven't bothered to mention it. But we're doing the MLB Awards and Predictions for the Community Leaders.. You wanna participate? I'll probably send the ballot out rather soon.

Also gonna do something for the Indians as the season comes to a close. Sort of like a final hurrah.. Probably the simple stuff, like Team MVP and all that and maybe a few questions to tie our season in a bow. Probably send that out after the season ends.

Anyway let me know.. Hope everythings well man.

  8. It's hard to keep up with everything going on with the Buckeyes, but I've done my best to wrap it up. Check it out!
