Joe's Bio

I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a B.A. in English, so writing has always been in my blood. I found Bleacher Report and instantly warmed to the concept. I hope that you will enjoy reading my articles, and please leave feedback if you can. If you disagree with me, post a comment...I love a good discussion (argument).

My sports loyalty belongs to the 49ers, the Fighting Irish, the Cubs, the Blackhawks, the Bulls, and the Packers. I root for a few other teams, but these are the core of my fandom. I am also a proud fan of the Irish national teams in Rugby and Soccer. My first love is football, with everything else taking a backseat.

  • All Time Sports Moment

Dwight Clark's "The Catch" sending the Niners into the Super Bowl...it propelled Montana to the first of his 4 Super Bowl rings. I was obviously not born yet, but I've watched that whole game on tape, and it was unreal.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

Probably the Notre Dame vs. Michigan game I just attended on 9/13/08. It was raining so hard in the second half and everyone was getting soaked, but almost no one left and the stadium grew louder and louder as the Irish marched on to victory.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Cy Young's 511 Wins - He won his 300th game at age 34! Pitchers today aren't built to last anymore. DiMaggio's 56-game hit streak is another. Michael Phelps' 8 golds. And Tiger Woods is working on one of his own...

  • Ruth or Mays?

Babe Ruth - He pitched almost as well as he swung the bat.

  • Unitas or Montana?

Montana won 4 Super Bowls with 3 Super Bowl MVPs...greatest QB ever.

  • Jordan or Russell?

    Michael Jordan

  • Gretzky or Orr?

    Wayne Gretzky
