I'm a former sportswriter/sports editor with the Los Angeles Sentinel who's mainly covered high school sports but also college and the pros. I still freelance with several publications including ESPN/RISE and the Torrance Daily Breeze.
Before I became a writer, I was and still a sports fan first. Lifelong Lakers, UCLA and Dodgers fan who grew up listening to Chick Hearn and Vin Scully call games like nobody else, reading the sports page every day and admiring John Wooden's legacy. I dreamed of being a Bruin but instead I became a Torero, graduating from the University of San Diego.
My writing inspirations are more literary than sportswriting but I feel fortunate to remember reading the late Jim Murray's final column for the LA Times and the late David Halberstam in college. Besides those two, I'm inspired by among others, Ralph Wiley, Michael Wilbon, Bill Simmons and JA Adande.
It's surprisingly simple, actually. Visit the following website and they will hook you up with the easiest instructions ever: https://support.twitter.com/groups/31-twitter-basics/topics/112-linking-to-your-blog-or-website/articles/20164833-how-to-add-the-follow-button-to-your-website
Could all just be in my dreams...although, I could help you put a Twitter follow button on your profile...then I'd be like some technological fantasy out of your dreams.
You, sir...are really attractive and I feel like perhaps we've met somewhere before. Maybe that's just wishful thinking though :)
No problem, Evan. I wonder how long it will take for Kentucky to have another NBA-type team!
You're welcome, Evan!
Thanks Evan! Knew I could count on you!
Hey Evan! What's your opinion on who the better 3 point shooter is/was? Kobe or Jordan? Sorry I know you don't like to compare the 2.
Never a problem Evan! Yeah, adding links is always the way to go.
My pleasure Evan!
I really enjoy reading the articles you write! I am wanting to become a sports journalist and I was wondering if you had any tips...
