    10-21-01, In the first game at Shea Stadium since the events of 9/11, The Mets Paid tribute to the Fallen NYC Firefighters, Police, and Rescue workers, as well as all affected in the tragic events of that day. With the Mets trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the 8th inning with the tying run on First, Up to the plate came our hero, Mike Piazza, After fighting off a few pitches from Braves reliever Steve Karsay, Mike got a fastball on the outside part of the plate, and Blasted one of the most dramatic Home Runs in History. Giving the Mets a 3-2 lead, and a victory. I myself attended that game with a friend's family. I was 11 years old, and since that day, I have never in my life found myself in such an unbelievable environment as I did that cold September evening. I will never forget it.

  • Ruth or Mays?

    Mays. Though Ruth gave a new birth to the Home Run, Mays represents a figure of the greatest era of baseball, he gave rise to a change in the game, a young african american boy who came from nothing. He was the most exciting Baseball player ever to Put on a Glove, he made the game better, i only wish i were alive to see him play.

He was the most dominant player of his era, A 6'10 Stud from the University of San Francisco. He gave African Americans a place in the NBA, he fought through so many struggles in his life to get to the top,

    I truly cannot choose, i can make an all-day case for both of them, they were both simply Gods of the game that in my book, Share the throne as the greatest Hockey players to ever live. (I can also make a case to put Gordie Howe in with them)

    Sampras, dominated the game of Tennis since he was 17 years old, won his first Grand Slam event at 19, the all time winningest Male Tennis player. He and Andre Agassi had some of the greatest rivalry matches of all time. A rivalry i feel is on the same level of competition as the current rivalry between Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer

    Hi , did you see the NY sports page on BR? it is not doing to well. it only has 4 fans, i think we should make it better and take the page under are wing, its time to for us to represent NY and show the world what this great place is all about.
