Francois's Bio

I am from Montreal, Quebec, Canada and I own a sports blog at overtim.blogspot.com

I played hockey since I was 5 years old both as a player and a goalie. First as a goalie for my first 5 or 6 years, then as a player for 4 years to finally go back to good old goaltending since.

Goaltending is my forte as I am currently (secretly) training for next season.

I am not talking about NHL here right off the bat, just relax hehehe...

But am sure will be looking for a pro training camp come next june/july/august. I am browsing different european leagues and north-american leagues right now.

A coaching position is of course kept for later, once my physical abilities as a player will be obsolete. I am 33 years old and if Hasek can do it at 42-43ish I damn sure can for as long as him! You can take that to the bank.

So let's see what those next 10 years produce! :)

  1. Wow, took me a while to reconstruct why I posted the note. But I am not sure what you mean by "in my opinion, it's as ridiculous to take away an assist on a goal in hockey that it is to take away a strike to retire a player at bat in baseball." There was no mention of taking away an assist in his article.

  2. I just read a comment you posted on Ian Robinett's article--am I to understand that if anyone makes a reference to baseball you will respond harshly? I think baseball is lame, but I hope I am wrong about that being the jist of that response...

  3. I just joined the BR. Did you try out last year? Or is it going to be this summer?

  4. Thanks for the add Francois!

  5. Hey Francois,

I just wanted to let you know that Bleacher Report has launched out of beta with an updated look and feel and some great new features. Check out the "Game On" link in the header to find out more.

Next week we'll be launching the site to the world with some public announcements—and it'd be great to get a contribution from you between now and Tuesday to make Bleacher Report's launch a success.

Let me know if you need any help with ideas or have questions. Have a great weekend Francois!

  6. Yeah, sorry about that, man. Inexcusable error on my part.

  7. Welcome to BR Brandon.

  8. Hey, I am new on BR, but I got to your articles right away. Got to love Montreal hockey! Hopefully Huet can stay hot and that Plekanec, Kostitsyn, and Kovalev line can keep scoring goals! GO HABS!

  9. Just added the tags to the Villeneuve piece, Francois. Sorry for the confusion.

  10. I heard you're a hockey guru! didn't get a chance to ask this before my vacation, but is there any chance you can dish out a best of nhl column? Thanks

  11. Nah... He killed the bear. :)

  12. I haven't read the Dark Tower, but I hope the gunslinger in that book didn't also get mauled by a Bear on a windy day in Chicago.

Thank you for the nice comments.

  13. F--That is a great pic...and I just made the switch. Thanks for the head's up. Nice to see the Habs get a W, BTW. RA

  14. F,
thanks for the comment, and the read.
    speed-skating...perfect idea.
    cheers

  15. F, Good to know about the pics--I'll keep an eye out in the future. Also glad to hear the edits check out--easy fixes on my end, so thanks for that.
