Believe t or not, June is here! How time flies when your team is mediocre, eh?

I am asking you to once again contribute to the monthly Cubs Roundtable by answering some questions covering the month of May.

Please send your answers to me at rememberthecoop@yahoo.com by June 7th. Thanks, Bob

    1. Who is the May Cubs MVP and why?

    2. Who was the most disappointing Cub in May?

    3. What is the top area of need for the Cubs right now (starting pitching, relief pitching, hitting, defense)?

    4. What do you think of the Carlos Zambrano outburst - childish behavior or simply a sign of a fiery competitor? Is he still the Cubs Ace?

    5. Should Sean Marshall be a starter or in the bullpen?

    6. Will Geo Soto turn it around or is he a one-year wonder? To what do you attribute his rough start?

    7. Which team in the NL Central concerns you the most?

    8. Who should close - Carlos Marmol, Kevin Gregg or someone else?

    9. Who should be the starting 1st baseman - Derrek Lee, Micah Hoffpaur or someone else (Jake Fox, trade?)

    10. Should Jim Hendry try and re-acquire Mark DeRosa?

    Brian,
I am sending some questions to the top Cubs writers in an attempt to do an April "state of the Cubs" address. I'd appreciate it if you would participate. If you agree, please send answers, along with any explanation/rationale to my e-mail address @ rememberthecoop@yahoo.com by Wednesday, May 6th.

Thanks and here are the questions.

    1. Who is the April MVP of the Cubs and why?

    2. Who is the most disappointing Cub so far and why?

    3. What is the top area of need for the Cubs right now (starting pitching, relief pitching, hitting, defense)?

    4. What changes, if any, would you make at this time? At the trade deadline?

    5. Give me your impressions of GM Jim Hendry (in how he assembled this club) and the job that manager Lou Piniella is doing

    6. Your prediction for the season (win the division, win one round of playoffs, go to World Series, win World Series, not make the playoffs).

    Hey,

Lou Gehrig has somehow been forgotten amongst the game’s immortals, even though he was possibly even more of a reason for the success of Ruth’s 1927 Yankees. Read about the quiet, forgotten leader of “Murderer’s Row,” Henry Lou Gehrig.

    Thanks in advance!
