I'm a senior at the University of Tennessee and I'm majoring in journalism and electronic media. I'm from Clearwater, Florida and my favorite sports are hockey, football, and golf. I grew up liking and watching sports. It started with Nascar and football and progressed into me watching everything. I watch sports that most sports fans don't. Soccer, hockey, golf, tennis, and auto racing are the best examples of that. My interest in being a sports journalist came from a class I took in high school. We went to our school's football games and filmed the game from the sidelines. The next day we edited a highlight film for the morning show. My interest in sports writing came from the realization that news is moving to the internet and it's much faster and convenient if your stories are in the most efficient places. I hope to write for a major sports organization and show sports fans more than just what the final score indicates.
