Jim's Bio

Jim traces his family tree in Philadelphia back through mid-1800s. And if they had football back then, his ancestors probably would have booed them, too. Now in his third stint in Redskins country (must be a glutton for punishment), Jim clings to his Philly teams, and PHINALLY got to tell his kids the same thing he heard from his dad the night Tug McGraw sealed the deal: "Wake up, son. You may never see this again in your lifetime." WFC's, Baby!!

  1. As the World Series gets under way later tonight, I thought it would be interesting to take a look at the "frienemies" that will develop between fans in this year's World Series.

    Hope you enjoy!

    Dan

  2. You know what... do teams really need a great closer to win the World Series?

    Yes. Unfortunately for my Phillies...

  3. MLB playoffs start in less than a week.

Who will close games for the defending World Champions?

  4. After an impressive offseason, many expected Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry to have a breakout season. It may be early, but he has struggled in the first three games of the 2009 season and the emergence of Andre Caldwell may have something to do with it.

    Thanks,

  5. I love The Sporting News. And I look forward to its top 100 players every year.

    That doesn't mean I can't disagree though...

  6. Michael Vick is headed to Philly. The Eagles will be damn exciting as Vick gets his shot at redemption. If you have a moment, please check out my column. Thanks!

  7. A couple of weeks ago, I wrote The Year Too Early NFL All-Decade Team.

This is its baseball counterpart, The Half of a Year Too Early MLB All-Decade Team, and my 100th article here on Bleacher Report.

  8. Jim,

Did you see the trade that almost sent Felix Hernandez to Boston? Check it out. Thanks!

  9. Hey Jim,

The A.L. has become a two-month sprint with three great races. If you have a moment, please check out my column. Thanks!

  10. More bad news for the Eagles' defense...

How do you recover from the loss of Bradley, Dawkins, and Jim Johnson?

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/229727-stewart-bradley-suffers-torn-acl-time-for-entire-d-to-step-it-up-in-09

  11. The trade deadline came and passed, and the Phillies didn't get Roy Halladay.

What the team did get however is a reigning Cy Young award winner who could very well be the key to the Phillies repeating as World Champions.

  12. Hi Jim! Yup, I'll be there for the entire series.
