I grew up in Chicago. My family never liked sports besides NASCAR, so I acquired any interest from my friends. Growing up I grew to love hockey and basketball. Jeremy Roenick, Tony Amonte, Ed Balfour and Chris Chelios were my heroes during my school years. Come middle school Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman led the way to a second three peat and straight into my heart. Once I hit high school I grew to love baseball. This has been my favorite sport since learning it.
Yearly I attend anywhere upwards of 10 baseball games a year from either Miller Park, Comiskey or Wrigley. I am a White Sox fan, but am an equal opportunity attendee. I love baseball games in general. This is where I draw most of my inspiration for my articles because I can understand and appreciate the art, science and athletic ability put into the game as an entirety.
I am typically up to date on topics and very aware of what is going on in any given sport. I ritually watch sportscenter, and during baseball season subscribe to the MLB Extra Innings Package.
To sum it up, all I can say is sports are a great escape to an otherwise typical life.
