About Tyler »

Born in the red clay of Oklahoma, I was destined to ultimately become a diehard Red Sox fan. I've lived in the northeast for the past 11 years, and TiVo just about every game. I suffered through the Carl Everett years, and the night of Aaron-f*ing-Boone, so I do not consider myself a bandwagon fan leeching off their recent glory. Take heart Yankee fans: I enjoy the rivalry but I don't have a vendetta against you. You are no longer the evil empire. I do follow other New England sports, in the same way I follow Michael Jordan at the pro-am golf tournaments.

Mays. The better all-around athlete, and not surrounded with the Murderer's Row supporting cast.
Unitas or Montana?

Without Jerry Rice, there is no Montana. Unitas was a grinder.
Jordan or Russell?

Jordan. Hands down the greatest athlete to play basketball, and perhaps any sport.
Gretzky or Orr?

Gretzky. The nickname says it all.
Pele or Maradona?

Pele. Did they make a movie about Maradona? No.
Federer or Sampras?

Sampras
Tiger or Nicklaus?

Hmm...ultimately, it will be Tiger. He's not even close to finished.
Petty or Earnhardt?

Racing? I don't know.

Seriously, I don't care

Hey man,

Thanks for the fan-add. Like your Red Sox stuff. I always love reading stuff written by reasonable fans of the Red Sox, Cowboys, Fightin' Irishes, etc. of the world. So hard to find rationale stuff written by the national media about those teams.

I think that's what really drives a lot of the animosity towards them. That and all the damn winning ;-)
