I live in Pittsburgh, PA with my wife and daughter. I work for the Psychology department at Carnegie Mellon University.
My favourite sport is hockey. Other sports that I enjoy from time to time are baseball, soccer and cricket (ODI mostly).
Thanks for reading and commenting on my article, Matthew. The way things are going, I think the city with the best chance of getting its team back is Quebec, which is the only city that is willing to face up to the arena issue. There is speculation that their investment team will unveil a business plan including a new arena next month after the current NHL season is over. Bettman was openly urging Quebec to build a new arena so we'll have to see if he pays up if Quebec complies with his terms. Of course Hamilton could satisfy the NHL's terms right now but Bettman wants to exploit them with a $400 million expansion fee. It's too early to expect anything from Hartford, but give Baldwin time. When he starts naming investors and outlines a plan to build a new arena in Hartford, then things will get interesting there.
I just wanted to let you know that Bleacher Report has launched out of beta with an updated look and feel and some great new features. Check out the "Game On" link in the header to find out more.
Next week we'll be launching the site to the world with some public announcements—and it'd be great to get a contribution from you between now and Tuesday to make Bleacher Report's launch a success.
Let me know if you need any help with ideas or have questions. Have a great weekend Matthew!
