Andrew's Bio

To the left is a picture of me as I hiked back up the Grand Canyon after hiking down to Phantom Ranch that same morning. Me and my dad hiked down the Angel Creek Trail, and up the Kaibab Trail.

Currently in high school, I run cross-country and track (one-mile and two-mile). I have a deep love for all Minnesota sports, but I have a deeper love for my Creator, Jesus Christ. I hope to bring you entertaining and relevant articles while I rant on whichever Minnesota sport happens to be struggling.

I recently came closer to Mexico when I moved to Tucson, Arizona, but moved farther away from my Minnesota sports.

No, I don't limit my interests to Minnesota sports. I love all sports, but I tend to gravitate towards the NFL. I will try to find peace with Arizona fans and maybe pick up a team or three.

I may have to see someone about this, but I almost enjoy the NFL off-season better than the regular season...

...maybe it's something in the 100-degree-at-8-am-air...(but don't worry, it's a dry heat)...

I love to come home on Sunday to three football games, then another on Monday. A birthday suggestion of mine would be MLB.TV.

I was also asked to blog the Twins at TwinsFix.com. I really enjoy doing that daily, so drop by and tell me what you think!

Good to hear from you. My site does get a lot of hits and it does get many comments. The way the comments are displayed is first I have to approve them then they appear at the botton of the page.

I don't like how they are displayed but if you scroll all the way down you can see my recent posts and my recent comments.

I'm in the process of getting quotes to have my page re-designed just to jazz it up a bit.

I would be more than happy to put your blog site on there. In fact I will post it after each of your articles and then I will put it on my blog roll.

Here are a few thoughts on your nutrition label idea (which I think is really good, by the way) but for a player I'm familiar with--Travis Haffner of the Tribe:

Travid Haffner, Designated Hitter
(Picture)
Expiration date: (enter date his contract is good till)
Daily percentage of offense...5%
Daily percentage of leadership...5%
Less than 2% of the following: defense, health
Key ingredient: Power
Keep in warm, dry ballpark so hammy doesn't cramp up

Well, that's pretty bad on reflection, but it's still a good idea. Hope you can iron it out.

Thank you for the feedback. I know I wrote about the Blazers and Oden, but your Timberwolves could have a very bright future with Kevin Love, Al Jefferson, and Mike Miller. It will take some time, but I think they will definitely play better basketball next season.

To me, you send down Glen Perkins and have him there in case one of your big guns get hurt (and someone always will).

The Red Sox are in the same situation. Colon is OK, but we have two young guys (Buchholz and Masterson) who have much better stuff and probably would be better in the long run. But they're both young. If we toss Colon, then Wake, Dice-K (who I think has a shoulder problem), or Beckett get hurt we lose the ability to replace them with a major league ready guy.

So we keep Colon, and keep the young guys on the "Fenway-to-AAA" shuttle.

The Sox have been doing this since the current administration took over. Sometime's it's frustrating (David Wells being kept over a young Jon Papelbon?), but we've learned that it's the best route to take with starting pitching.

You can NEVER have too much starting pitching.

I disagree on Livan though. He gives innings, which is an underrated quality in an extremely long baseball season. Plus, there's nothing else out there. And as soon as you deal a starter, another starter gets hurt. It's baseball karma.

Yeah when I watched last year it seemed that Rice did have potential unlike another South Carolina grad. Wade seemed to be a good route runner especially on the crossing and out patterns. But I guess we'll see if the can do enough. I just don't see any of them catching 70+ balls. Maybe Berrian will though. Yeah Do you still have Shiancoe?

We are in a tough division and I'm thinking we'll miss the playoffs too. Campbell has more weapons, but I'm not certain he can put it all together. I do like him though and obviously hope he does well. Thanks for the info!

OK man... just wondering about the Vikings WR corps they only added Berrian right? I just don't think they have enough on offense. Wow I drove a 1000 mile round trip to Cape Town and back lately and that was hell :(

It's a long long way....PE is as far south as you can go in Africa (Next stop Antartica), so the length of Africa and then most of Europe to boot haha....Takes over a day travelling by plane haha

Thanks for your comment. While, we do agree that Eric Gordon is a very talented player we feel that Mayo and Bayless have higher ceilings and will therefore be taken over Gordon. Our guess would be Gordon will still be taken in the lottery but behind both Mayo and Bayless. As for Lopez, we both do not think very highly of Lopez. Minnesota might draft him due to need, but that would be a HUGE reach if Lopez was taken #3 overall. If Minnesota really wanted Lopez, I'd hope for their sake that they would trade down and take him later on in the first round and get more out of the #3 pick. The latest mock draft from Chad Ford that came out today had Lopez dropping to I believe the 9th pick. Thanks again for reading.

Just remember, when it comes to fantasy baseball it's not about judging past performance but predicting future performance. You have to look at player projections, platoon splits, stadium effects and development. Also, you have to know when a player's past performance is reflective of actual talent or luck.

Otherwise, sure, your equation measures what you want it to, which is the general idea.

By the way, I agree about the air in the Midwest and I love that view on your profile picture. That is the Grand Canyon, right? My brother (now in the UP) lived outside of Phoenix for a couple years.
