Yeah, Leonard has had some good workouts and that's why he's moved up the board. Plus, he can rebound, which usually translates from college to the pros.
I'll be turning out a mock draft in the near future, and hopefully shed a little light on where the Jazz will go. Jan Vesely, a 6-11 forward from the Czech Republic is comparable to Tom Chambers, he might be a sleeper pick for Utah.
Jimmer's stock is falling like a rock. some experts now have him in the mid-20s. If a team drafts him they have to be aware of his defesive limitations. We'll, they need a shot blocker and they also need a shooting guard. NBAdraft.net is usually pretty reliable, with their first pick,they have the Jazz taking 7'0" power forward Donatas Motiejunas from Lithuania.
Everyone's darling, Jimmer Fredette should still be on the board for their second lottery pick, so I could see O'Connor taking a stab at him, he would obviously sale tickets.
They also think Kansas power forward Marcus Morris is a Jazz type of player. At 6'8" he has the ability to create his own shot and get to the basket.Which is something Paul Millsap can't do that well. He's only a junior, so there's still lots of potential here. @Scott: Scott, the new CBA is supposed to make it easier for small market teams to retain their players by placing restrictions on teams over the cap. In others words, D-Will wouldn't have had as many options to go elsewhere. Furthermore if you research AJ's season statistics, you'll find your assertion that "AJ is not about putting up numbers anymore" is unfounded. According to 82games.com when AJ was on the floor the Jazz were +3.4pts offensively but -7.2pts defensively. Preston I agree with you 100%; however, I don't like many of your trade scenarios. Trading for Brandon Roy would be too risky, especially considering the jazz would be sending memos expiring contract for Roys long term contract. When you think about trade scenarios you have to take into account that the new cba is supposed to drastically lower teams payroll. So teams are going to be shedding salary rather than taking on long term bloated contracts, especially small market teams like the jazz. After the lockout, expiring contracts are going to be highly sought after.

Chris, how is it that the Jazz sign any of the free agents you mentioned when they've already committed $70million+ to their current roster. Furthermore, what makes you think that the new CBA will give the Jazz any wiggle room to sign any FA?

Tim, now that we know the Jazz are slotted at 3rd and 12th in lottery, who would you draft? I like Kanter, but he blew the Jazz off the other day, plus I think he's more of a four than a five. I like Brandon Knight, but like Jimmer I question whether he is a true point. Jonas Valanciunas seems too skinny, raw, plus his European contract means he won't be playing the NBA anytime soon. One guy I believe makes a lot of sense for the Jazz is Kawhi Leonard, he's long and athletic like Shawn Marion or Gerald Wallace, plus he plays D. What are your thoughts post lottery? And do you have plans to make a mock draft article?
