Geoff graduated from the University of Iowa in 2010 with a degree in Political Science. His original plan of going to Law School or running for President didn't seem like much fun anymore, since all he wanted to do was watch sports, coach sports and play sports (and watch The Office). Geoff is now working in an inner-city school in Davenport, Iowa and coaching high school softball/baseball, basketball and helping with track.
Geoff is your typical sports junkie who thinks he knows more about everything than everybody else. He values watching as many games as possible instead of repeating everything the talking heads say on Sportscenter like most "fans" do.
Geoff was born and raised in Iowa and is an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan and alum. Geoff feels that since the year of his birth (1985), it would be almost impossible to follow three more heartbreaking teams then he does.
His grandpa buying him a Herschel Walker Starting Lineup figure at a young age turned him into a Vikings fan like his grandpa. He watched Major League at the age of five and became a die-hard Indians fan, only learning a year or two later that Rick Vaughn wasn' a real player. His parents wedding was "best-manned" by Pacers legend Mel Daniels, his dad's best college friend, thereby making him a Pacers fan. Not a good trio to follow if you can't handle heartbreak and frustration.
Geoff attends as many games as he can every year and shells out the dough for MLB Extra Innings and NBA League Pass, even if he can't afford it. Geoff lives in the heart of Bears, Cubs and Bulls country, which has been a lifelong struggle to not committ murder on some of those annoying people.
Geoff decided that in addition to being a coach, he had too much to say about sports not to share it with others. He would like to be either the next Coach K, or through the help of Bleacher Report, the next Peter Gammons. One way or another, his life will revolve around sports, as it always has.
