Mike's Bio

Sophomore in college, I come from Oil City, Pennsylvania. Football is a big part of my life. In high school, I played in 9th grade. When I didn't start when I thought I should have, and because I didn't like the varsity coach, I decided not to play the following year. Instead I went to all of the games the Varsity and the JV teams had and cheered for our school. Or yelled when I thought the coach called a really dumb play. I always paid attention to the NFL. The Green Bay Packers have been my favorite football team since I was in the 2nd grade. Which at the point (I didn't know it) they had recently just won Super Bowl XXXI the previous year.

I didn't realize that becoming a Packers fan when I was 7 was going to turn into an obsession. Like mentioned before, since I was about 11 I have always paid attention to football. Then the Packers went 4-12. It was a wake up call to me. I started REALLY paying attention to football. So much that I knew what was going on not with just the Packers, but just about EVERY NFL football team. I mean I'm sure I wasn't the only one, but I noticed that just last season in 2007, the Houston Texans who were always seen as a bad team since they were created, went 8-8. That's a .500 record. That is a hell of an improvement for a team of its stature.

I have changed my major to Journalism. It used to be Secondary Ed. Math. However this site has made me realize how much of a Sports Journalist I really want to be.

  1. Gotten a couple pick of the day votes on this one—hope to earn yours, too!

  3. As part of the CBS application, we were all asked to submit a number of questions that we'd ask a player from our favorite team if we ever had the opportunity to interview him, I chose Santonio Holmes, let me know what you think.

  5. So slide shows have this odd rule where the introductory slide must be 300 characters long, so in order to save any edits, I had to make the intro at least 300 characters. Please look it over and suit it to your style and please don't take offense.

  6. Make sure you check out my first weekly installment of the Packers positional analysis...

  7. Umm..PLEASE get your facts right!!

The Vikings play at home, dummy!
So it should be: Can the Falcons overcome the Vikings?

How the heck are MIAMI and freakin ATLANTA above the Vikings, when the previous two might not even make the playoffs, and the Vikings have all but secured the Division by blowing out the highest scoring offense in the NFL?

And by the way, in case you didn't know this either, the Vikes have the perfect combination of running and stopping the run for the cold months in the playoffs.

Sorry for the critcism, But congrats on a lot of views.

Please check out my articles, and feel free to critique. sorry i'm just in a bad mood also.

  8. Thanks for the POTD. Very generous of you!
