Andrew's Bio

Gotta promote this one since you can't find it on Bleacher Report: http://www.askmen.com/sports/fanatic_250/263_we-want-new-sports-commentators.html

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1. All of my articles are now featured at www.sportsscribes.net.

Check the site out as several fantastic Bleacher Report writers have migrated there.

2. Shameless plugs for a couple buddies:

If you need a finish carpenter and you're in SoCal (north of San Diego): http://www.gordonwoodworks.com/

If you need a drink and you're in San Francisco, visit Yancy's Saloon in the Inner Sunset. Mention my name and get absolutely nothing.

3. Read this: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?id=4300383 and this: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/31/nyregion/31judge.html?ref=nyregion

4. You can follow me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/anuschler

5. You can follow me at Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/andrew.nuschler

Sigh...

6. I also contribute my San Francisco Giant articles to MVN.com: http://mvn.com/sfgiantspride/

7. One of the many reasons William Nuschler Clark, Jr. is the man:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUkTfbOEKTs&feature=player_embedded

Once upon a time, I was a three-year varsity starter in baseball and basketball for a Northern Californian public school of a decent size. Now, I'm a 30-year-old with an engineering degree, a JD, and writing about sports online. Go figure.

What else? That's not my real name. Andrew is, but Nuschler is lifted from/in tribute to No. 22. Used it because I'm a die-hard San Francisco Giants fan and he's one of my all-time favorite baseball players.

But you can see all that down below.

Love any and all contributions from editors. But...PLEASE don't add pagination. I hate it. Down with pagination.

  1. here is a story of another NFL Legend who has yet to get his deserved respect :

  2. The Ravens lost a heartbreaker to the Bengals today, 17-7. I write about the three positives and negatives at the halfway point, and examine why the Ravens are still in good shape going forward to earn the 5th or 6th WC spot.

  3. Haha, I figured you'd appreciate the thought—but if it's any consolation, I myself am now past halfway to being 30 (as my sister will gleefully point out at any given oppurtunity) ;-)

Andrew, I owe you one. Read your article on Lincecum (didn't comment b/c I have nothing much to add—so long as they're not taking PED's, as far as I'm concerned they can do as they please, I'm really not too bothered). Your instruction to "Google 'marijuana pro athletes'" prompted me to type in likewise w/ military, and got some great results. I'm probably the worst person to do research b/c I never have a clue what keywords to use, but those produced better results than all my other searches put together. Article now looks a viable option—exams and studying aside ;-)

Yep, the very same teacher. She is awesome, though—any teacher who can simultaneously gain their pupils' respect, have them enjoy the lessons, and actually make a connection with them, has to be doing something right. I can think of three, maybe four of my current teachers like that.

I can kind of see the reason for the target—kind of. She apparently did the first half of the lesson (the bit I missed b/c I was at music) on how to use colons and semicolons, so it does sort of make sense.

I live in the middle of a massive poverty trap (though I don't personally feel the effects, I have witnessed it all my life). And even although most people in my particular English class are much the same as me in that regard, there is a definite disregard for literature—part of the ingrained mindset of such places. It's only by reading lots that you gain an understanding how and when to do certain things (eg use semicolons), and most people I know refuse to pick up any book that isn't strictly required for the coursework.

Most girls read Jacqueline Wilson books. Don't get me wrong—they are perfectly enjoyable. It's just that the literary standard isn't exactly high. The language is simple, the plots basic and predictable, and the characterisation minimal. Oh, and Twilight—that's another favourite amongst my peers. I've read the books, enjoyed them a lot—but Meyer doesn't even appear to be aware of the gaping holes in her character devlopment. It's a very bad book to choose for a personal study, b/c there's really not much worth talking about unless you plan on going for the "she didn't do this well" as opposed to the "she did this well"—and yet I know a lot of people who took the latter option.

I digress—my point is, it does sort of make sense to take things back to basics. Even if it does piss me off ;-)

Incidentally—I hate the fact that B/R has managed to create an ego in me where there was never one before. Seriously ;-)

  4. Week Nine is here! Check out what's in store for today's games and which undefeated team I think will go down today!

  5. As a Knicks Featured Columnist, I will be making periodical attempts to give fans an inside look at the different aspects of Knicks games. Take a look at what I came up with when Lebron James came to visit.

  7. Hey Andrew, here's a link to an article that joins your opinion on Warner Vs. Manning. A good read.

  8. Andrew,

So, everyone who agrees with me is just my other ghost account, those who are clearly not ghosts are trolls, and my article's high number of reads is due to luck?

Sounds like someone is dreaming :)

    cheers, don't cry bro.

  9. Andrew,

If I have ghost accounts, than why did some of them join months before I did?

Did I create ghost accounts months in advance in anticipation of our arguments, and to make you feel that people are agreeing with me?

Or maybe, JUST MAYBE, you can't accept the fact that people are agreeing with me?

You know... because I know the subject on which I comment?

    What do you think?
