One quibble: I, invariably, submit columns to BR that are strong enough to be placed in any publication.
When I see a comment such as "grammatical errors throughout", I bristle. Per the editing screen, three words were changed in a 1,000-plus word column; none of the changes were for the better. (Unless you count a comma "upgraded" to a semi-colon when a comma was called for.)
I feel like many editors feel as if they have to leave that type of remark to justify their work; I'm not just "picking' on you.
Sorry for the rant, but when I contribute my talents for free and have professional skills beyond what is usually featured here, it's a slap in the face to read that.
