Patrick's Bio

"I know that it's coming, I just hope that I'm alive for it."

My name is Patrick Cwiklinski and I'm an 18-year-old student currently enrolled at the University of Victoria in Victoria, British Columbia.

My passion for sports and writing go back almost as far as I can remember but I only found my life's passion in Grade 10 when I was lucky enough to attend a work experience week at The Province newspaper's sports division in Vancouver.

Upon returning I was motivated to begin writing in my own community and so I took to our high school's football team when they were in need of someone to send in game articles to my island's weekly newspaper, the Gulf Islands Driftwood.

After a few months of writing for the football and basketball teams, I was offered the Driftwood's first ever sports column and I'm proud to say that "Let's Talk Sports" is still around and kicking today as I prepare for my life beyond my small community of Salt Spring Island that I've grown to love.

Most recently, I began writing on Bleacher Report and the experience has been very rewarding in the sense that I'm able to get direct feedback on articles and know about the things that people enjoy about my writing as well as the things I still need to work on.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank every one who has signed up as one of my fans, I'm very flattered and humbled you've taken an interest in my work and I hope I won't disappoint.

  1. Hello Everyone, take a look at this important article. It will most likely be my last on bleacher report. Feel free to pass it around. Thank you very much and God Bless!

  2. Glad you enjoyed Rojo's article, it was just amazing, wasn't it?

Thanks for asking about my mom. Considering the circumstances, she's doing as well as I could possibly hope. Now that I'm making sure to get proper rest, I'm doing better, too, and hope to start pushing out some work again here soon.

  3. Hi Patrick, how are you?

If you get a second, take a look at this must-read from Rojo Grande. A true masterpiece:

I've been out of commission since Sunday, so I'm behind on my reading, but I will get to your article on Craig Anderson in a little bit!

  4. Which of the NFL's undefeated teams will take their first loss this week?

I've got my predictions and analysis including a big upset!

    Check it out:

  5. At long last the second part of the 49ers All "No" team is here:

  6. Patrick,

I know this is a very lengthy piece, but it’s one I hope you find the time to enjoy at your leisure. It’s a fantastic biographical tribute to the greatest boxer in history, Sugar Ray Robinson. If you have the time, give it a perusal and let me know what you think.

    Thanks,

    Daniel Barber aka Hotnuke

  7. What up everyone? I wrote an article about the changes here on B/R over the last couple of months, and about some of the things that we used to have, that we don't anymore. If you could, check it out.

As I have said in the past, many times, I am not on here for AOTD votes, but I believe that if enough of you give me your AOTD vote, then maybe the higher ups will bring back some of the things that are gone.

Thanks a bunch, I really appreciate it.

    Nick
