People talk about how Maradona, Pele, and Messi are prime candidates for the best player of all time. Well, neither one of them is. The best player, of course has always been considered to be an all time great, is often forgotten in the minds of the newer generation of fans. I think Cruyff is the best ever because he built the dutch soccer empire, along with rinus michaels and johan neeskens. He was simply great and didnt have the quality of teammates that Messi, Pele, and Maradona had.
*Btw, Gerd Muller played in a tougher league than pele and had a better scoring record.

As always, an interesting topic in arsenal folklore is the selection of a new captain. Captains dont seem to be loyal anymore or aren't fit to lead (gallas). So i would like your opinion on who should be the next captain and who is the most realistic choice. My favorite to win it is: Either Vermaelen or Song. Song would be interesting because he has the most territory of anyone on the field and may be the best all around player at the club in terms of attacking and defensive prowess.
