I've written professionally for three years now, and have covered a multitude of sporting events. From the NHL Draft to New York State High School Football Championships in Syracuse, I've done my best to become as well rounded of a sports journalist as there is by covering as many events as possible.
I'm a freelance sports journalist by trade, writing for local newspapers as well as various national outlets. I am a soccer and hockey play-by-play man, and radio personality (91.3FM WBNY-Buffalo). I guess you can say that I'm a jack of all trades type of fella when it comes to sports media.
Even though I've ventured into nearly every aspect of sports media there is, I have to say my favorite will always be live blogging events. To me, nothing is better than being able to engage with the people who make you about events.
Writers are made by the readers. It's something I will always live by no matter where my career takes me.
Mike, I really like that you took the time to write an article on CSIII, I too believe he's a special talent. But please, never fall trap to the national perception and the Jaguar ignorant! By that I mean, there are hundreds of writers that know nothing about our town or our fans down here in Jacksonville and therefor dribble rubbish about attendance and fandom. We have the 16th largest stadium in the league with the 20th best attendance, we haven't had a blacked out game in more than 3 years...not one. So keep writing these kinds of eye opening articles, but be one of very few writers who actually know what Duval is all about...FOOTBALL.
