I am a New Orleanian from birth from February 4, 1966 when I came into this World as Derrick Michael Smith in Metairie Louisiana where we lived until I was 8 years old. The family of Dad, Mom, an older sister and three younger sisters then moved to the West Bank (The Best Bank) where we resided in Gretna through my sophomore year at De La Salle High School until moving again to the north (Cleveland Ohio and then Fort Wayne Indiana) where I finished out my high school career.

I now reside in the small mountain top town of Signal Mountain with my wife of 12 years this September and two step-daughters. I have been a Saints fan since day one of my life by birth and I was even a season ticket holder in 2002 of a Saints Superdome seat along with one of my younger sisters who was also living here in the Chattanooga area at that time. I have been to all three of the Saints Training Camps that were held in Jackson Mississippi and went to this year's camp in Metairie for an extended weekend of 5 days to see 3 days worth of practices. In short, I bleed Black and Gold through and through and you'll be hard-pressed to find a more devoted Saints fan than me anywhere.
