About

Welcome to Big D's world... his name is Brian, but his friends call him Big D. He's a die-hard Vikings and Twins fan, but he also grew up, and still is, a huge Cincinnati Reds fan. His favorite athletes are Deion Sanders and Eric Davis.

He's originally from Northern Minnesota and currently lives in Minneapolis. He's lived in Chicago on two separate occasions and plans on making his way back to the Windy City for a third time within the next year or so.

He's a proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stout, where he earned a degree in Hospitality and Tourism.

He's a Featured Columnist here at Bleacher Report and writes mainly for the Minnesota Vikings page, as well as the Fantasy Football and UFC pages.

He recently became a part of the Sports-at-Work family of scribes and writers of sports jibberish... http://www.sports-at-work.com He'll have a weekly segment as an MMA featured columnist, so check him out there.

  • Favorite Coaches

Sweet Lou Pinella, Coach "K", Mike Ditka, Pat Summitt, and Barry Melrose!!!

  • All Time Sports Moment

1991 World Series Game 7... Minnesota Twins pitcher, Jack Morris, pitches 10 scoreless innings to win it all.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

2002 Michigan Wolverines vs. Minnesota Gophers, at the Metrodome... Gophers were up 28-7 at the start of the 4th quarter, and 35-14 with 10 minutes to go. We lost 38-35... Simply the sickest meltdown I've ever seen in person. The team couldn't gather themselves after that loss, and ended up losing 3 straight games to end the season. We were literally 10 minutes from the Sugar Bowl, but wound up in the Sun Bowl or something like that...

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Ripken's streak of 2632 consecutive games started... Gretzky's 92 goals in the 1981-82 season... Gretzky's 215 points in the 1985-86 season... Cy Young's 511 career wins... Wilt Chamberlain's 100 points in a single game... Wilt Chamberlain's 20,000 women. In my eyes they're all equally untouchable.

  • Ruth or Mays?

    I can't choose...

  • Gretzky or Orr?

Neither... Give me Eric Lindros, Keith Tkachuk, Jeremy Roenick, Rob Ray, Basil McRae, Tony Twist, Mike Peluso, Georges Laraque, Bobby Probert, and Dave "The Hammer" Schultz!!!

  • Pele or Maradona?

  • Federer or Sampras?

    Love 'em both...

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

Brian, nice article on the Vikings needs. I would love for them to trade up a few spots if Jenkins starts to fall. I don't know that I would trade up for Gilmore or Harrison Smith though, I think their value is pretty much right around where we are picking. Tough call for Spielman, if those guys are all gone, you'd have to think that Sanu, Randle or Jeffrey??? might be there and would be pretty enticing. (I don't know what the hell to make of Jeffrey at this point.)
    Keep up the good work!

Brian, I really don't want to have open arguments with you about nothing. We are FCs for the same team so we shouldn't have childish arguments on comment boards. We can agree to disagree on any topics that we write about/comment on. I want you to know, that if you feel like I was attacking you in some way, that wasn't my intention at all - just a friendly nudge from one FC to another. So, I apologize if I seemed like an ass. In the article you referred to from earlier this week, I was just voicing my opinion, not attacking you as a writer in any way. I appreciated that you said you liked my work and I think yours is good stuff as well. Though I was just joking around with my comment, I shouldn't have pushed your buttons like that and I apologize. Keep doing your thing, man.
