Mr. Lazar has been an active Firefighter/Emergency Medical Provider for over 25 years. Mr. Lazar started his fire service career in 1987 where he served with the Cabin John Park Volunteer Fire Department. He has also served as a Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician with the Juniata Gap Volunteer Fire Department in Altoona, PA; Penn State University Ambulance Service and Alpha Community Ambulance in State College, PA; Gaithersburg Volunteer Fire Department and Rockville Volunteer Fire Department in Rockville, MD. Craig, thank you for your thoughtful comments on my article. I probably should have refrained from speculating on what the NCAA might do short of shutting the program down. Are the sanctions imposed on USC a guide? Those are the stiffest penalties I remember short of SMU. Thanks again, Ken

Thanks for the note Craig. It was my pleasure to write what was in my heart about Paterno and though no one elected me to speak for those outside of the Penn State family, I thought it was important to offer support through the written word. Oh, and thanks for your service as a firefighter too. You are a hero in my book.

Jen, I love what you wrote relating the death penalty articles for PSU. I am an alum who graduated in the early 90's. I used to think that if you post rational and reasonable thoughts on these threads, maybe you can reason with the haters, but that just isn't the case. Nothing short of shuttering the doors and windows in UP will satisfy any of them except for may the real life death penalty for anything and anyoen associated with PSU. Keep up the good fight and hang in there!

Thanks for your article about JoePa. I have him listed on FB as one of the two men I admire most, ironically the other is Major Dick Winters, also a Pennsylvanina who we lost in the last year. JoePa was the first one to step forward to express regret that he had not done more, it seems no one else has. He deserved more that is certain and there will be a reckoning with the BoT that is certain. Those in the Penn State family never said he was the Omnipotent Demi-God as so many outside our family seem to think. We recognize that he was a man who strived to do the best he could and do what he thought was the right thing.
