About

I'm presently based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I was born in Scotland but spent my formative years in Toronto, long enough to make me a die-hard Leafs fan & of hockey generally.

I'm also a massive soccer fan & formed the first & only Dundee Utd Supporters Club In Ireland, known as the Emerald Isle Arabs & we went on to win the 2010 Scottish Cup! I'm also a Scotland fan & was fortunate to have attended the 2006 World Cup in Germany as a fan of the Soca Warriors owing to my Trinidadian heritage. A wonderful experience attending the tournament!

This sporting heritage encompassing Canada, Scotland & Trinidad has made for a rewarding sporting odyssey in my lifetime & one that I have keenly embraced. I am interested in the culture of sporting tribalism, why rivalries exist & the stories behind the people who keep them.

For sport, Belfast has the Belfast Giants ice hockey team whom i've worked with. I attended the first ever visit by an NHL team to the island in Sept 2010 when the Bruins played here. Theoren Fleury also played here for awhile & his debut performance for the Giants when he got 8 points & a fight has to go down as one of my best sporting memories.

It's easy to follow my favourite sports living out here: I subscribe to ESPN America & am a frequent listener to online podcasts in North America for my sporting fix!
