About

I like two things: sports and writing and fried chicken and music and comedy. I do not like math. In an effort to parlay my loves, I ate fried chicken while playing playing my guitar. My greasy fingers made the results comical, but there was still a gaping internal hole. I had left behind some of my love.

So I decided to write about sports. Fulfillment tastes almost as sweet as chicken...and remarkably similar.

I would also like to thank my wonderful wife and our five beautiful children for persevering through this sport's affliction.

Short List

  • Favorite Athletes

Bo Jackson, Ken Griffey Jr and Luis Sojo

  • Favorite Sports Teams

    Oakland Raiders

  • Favorite Coaches

    Phil Jackson

  • All-Time Sports Moment

Ken Griffey Jr crossing home after Edgar Martinez's double to beat the Yankees in Game 5 of the ALDS

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

MNF Bo Jackson's Kingdome dash into legend, down the tunnel and over Brian Bosworth's career

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Ripken's consecutive games played. I am not even sure the world is going to last long enough for someone to get there. Even if it did, there are only a handful of guys that even try to play every game in one season.

  • Ruth or Mays?

Ruth. The guy could strike out your best hitter and then hit a homerun off of your best pitcher and he'd eat 18 hot dogs in between.

  • Unitas or Montana?

    Johnny U...mystique beats out reality.

  • Jordan or Russell?

Russell. Jordan pushed off. You were talking about Byron right?

  • Gretzky or Orr?

Orr or...why is my computer stuttering. I'll take Orr. Give me the all-around game.

  • Pele or Maradona?

Pele...how many movies has Maradona been in with Sylvester Stalone?

  • Federer or Sampras?

Sampras. Pete was a robot on the court, but that's better than Federer's self-indulgence.

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

At golf? Well, I am taking Jack, until Tiger proves he can reclaim his dominance.

  • Petty or Earnhardt?

Earnhardt. The man in black always stood out on the track, either by taking a unique line, his aggresive driving or shear dominance.

  • ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12 or SEC?

    Pac 10 all the way.

Pitiful article about the Westminster judge. Do you have any idea or did you do any research to see what one goes through in order to be a judge - let alone a judge at one of the most important shows in the world? The had to have handled for "x" years, bred "x" litters, produced "x" champions, be voted by "x" peers, etc. Judges at this level - just like coaches on professional teams - have earned their stripes and know many people. If anything, those judges expect more from their friends; and the vast majority of them judge the dogs, not the handler - certainly the case with the elite Westminster judges. Do you think Bill Parcells should have passed on being the Exec. VP job with the Dolphins because they would play against the Pats and Jets? Should he have turned down that amazing and well deserved opportunity because he may "know" most others in his own division? No, right? He earned his opportunity to be there. Give the same due to the judges unless they have substantiated claims against him brought by reputable individuals...

The author you pulled your material from was investigated for fraudulent writing, and you clearly did not do any homework of your own to confirm anything she wrote (as an indication: Jamie Clute is a man, not a woman as the "she" in your article suggests). Consider - strongly - doing your own fact checks before writing such horrible things about someone who has dedicated his life to the betterment of "man's best friend."

poor you...seriously i pity you... what a poor article on federer..looks like you just want to be in the news..if you are so passionate about writing and that too sports, then atleast research and get the facts in place to back it up.. you not liking federer just doesn't mean that he won't win slams.. i'll surely write to you again on the 27th when he wins..and by the way, did you ever pick up a tennis racket in your entire life..

    thanking you,
    a true tennis fan...

    Dear navel lint for brains:

Regarding your statement that Louisville would be destroyed by Florida State. I say poppycock and unadulterated blather. The greatest evidence of the weakness of your statement is that you said it.

    The Cards are for real!
