Brian's Bio

I'm a longtime fan of the New York Giants, Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox, San Francisco Giants, Boston Celtics and men's basketball at Providence College and the University of Rhode Island.
I like soccer played at a high level, but profess no particular fanship other than to the U.S. men's and women's teams in international competition.
I was a sports reporter for several daily newspapers, covering high school, college and pro action. My most recent stint was a decade ago.
I've played all major sports and many minor ones at one time or other. My best sports were soccer and ice hockey.

Bulletin Board (13) Post a note »

  1. 55,000 +/- Americans have witnessed the last Cubs championship...with the numbers declining rapidly.

By 2018 there will only be 55 left as only one in a thousand centenarians see 110.

  2. Thanks for the add!

  3. Heeey Brian,

    Where you been mon?

I was fooling around with my profile and deleted everyone on my lists so I'm hunting mutual fan/fans back down.

There's another Big East writer to meet...Jameson Fleming...he's really good.

    Get back to me!

  4. Brian,

I hope you have great luck and happiness in whatever you do.

May God give you and your family happiness and joy.

    Best Regards,
    Sarah

  7. thanks for the kind words!!

  8. Hey Brian,

Sorry if you felt I over-edited your tags. I didn't actually remove them all -- but as of now you have "humor" and "open mic" -- were there others you wanted added as well?

  9. According to iTunes' play count on the ol' MacBook ..."Two Left Feet" in my top seven and "Why Must I Plead" in the 11th spot.

I need to dig more RT off my back up and re-establish order.

  10. Al Davis died a few years ago, right after Rich Gannon threw his 25th interception against Tampa Bay in the Super Bowl. Since then, he's been controlled "Weekend at Bernie's" style by two Denver Broncos fans.

You have to admit, that explains a lot of what's happened since that Super Bowl....

    -Sean
    PS: I know he's not already dead...it was a joke. :)

  11. WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!

Seriously though, thanks for the encouragement Brian. Hope you have a great weekend and can't wait for your next piece.

    Zander

  12. Not a problem. I see you're a SF Giants fan, that sticks out when I see the rest of your East Coast list. How did that come about?

  13. Hey Brian I appreciate the post. I went through a little editors class in college, so I just try to do my best and try to not get fancy in changing a sentence's structure around completely. I do want to apologize for the word "ergo," I could not place the word in my mind, the only word that closely matched was ego and figured you would change it back if it was a word that you knew and I did not. I managed to search for it last night on a dictionary website but did not come up with the word. I think more or less it is time for me to find a new source for words haha. Stay in touch Bro.
