About

I have worked in Player Personnel and Scouting Departments for the New York Giants, Cleveland Browns and ol' Las Vegas Gladiators (now in Cleveland) in the Arena League, and turned down two college coaching jobs. I served as the Scouting Coordinator at Student Sports Football (now called ESPN RISE) and have had my scouting reports, scouting articles and other content on WeAreSC.com, GaitorBait.net and NMPreps.com among an array other sites.

My work has also been featured on various satellite websites in cities like San Antonio and Seattle and others. I have a tremendous amount of experience in evaluating football talent ranging from my experience in the NFL down to prep stars and I have served as a sportswriter for various websites.

I've been a fan of CFB recruiting since I was 11 years old and remember when Lorenzo Booker committed to Notre Dame on NSD and backed out for FSU. I watched Maurice Jones-Drew kill Long Beach Poly at De La Salle, Matt Leinart almost beat De La Salle by himself at Mater Dei and remember before the Army Game and Under Armour Game, the big high school all-star game was the Cali-Florida Bowl, and many other moments in recruiting through the years. I will be working with Bleacher Report as a College Football Recruiting Analyst.

Do you have any updated information on when exactly Robert Nkemdiche will be announcing. I know May 18th was the set date but heard he moved it back. Then I heard May 18th again. Any idea?

Hey Edwin I'm a huge fan and love your writing. Bleacherreport, especially your writing, has inspired me to start writing about sports. I considered signing up for bleacherreport but instead decided to try to make my own website. http://bustasports.com/ is the link, and it would mean a ton if you checked it out and gave me some feedback. Feel free to give me positive or negative feedback, either way it means a lot. You can post on my profile or email me at lmssports@hotmail.com
I also have a couple questions, so do you have a personal email I can reach you at?
Thanks a lot and a reply would be huge for me.

YOU Missed on a guy on "baddest 10 big guys in HS Football". Bradley Bozeman 6-5 1/2 305lbs crushes players. At 17 yrs old he Bench Pressed 225lbs 26 repetitions 450+ BP max. He dips sets of 8 hanging 45lb plate. Nobody in HS football at this age, can do either one of these at his height- short chubby guys might, but doubt even that. Not many even in college at 22 can do this. You need to research his film. I am his Personal Trainer and feel he is vastly under rated at a 3 star level- much better but he must be hidden from you guys. Get back with me with your email.
    thanks,

yo man, your one of my favorite writers on this site. you seem to have your stuff together. i honestly cant say that for all the writers on here. this site (i have learned recently) is not the favorite in many sports circles. it has low credibility but you are a bright spot ,my man. look forward to seeing you writing for a big name some day. keep up the good work!

I know that you have little time as you almost never comment on your writings. You wrote about the Top 25 Recruiting Classes and I got sick of everyone questioning your list. I have been defending you for about an hour because I read all of you articles here at B/R. I told people that there is Rivals, Scout, ESPN, and Edwin Weathersby. Your writings come often, you are always on top of breaking news when it comes to recruiting. So, I just want you to know that this Buckeye fan appreciates all of your work, because I can't believe all of the crap people throw at you because their favorite school is 5 spots lower on your list than they are on ESPN's list. People are crybabies. I know that you won't, but if you ever need anything from an old Buckeye fan that lives in the central Florida area, just ask. I'll interview a high school player if you want. I feel that I owe it to you for how you carried me through this recruiting process of 2012. You are the best Edwin. I wish you luck in your future endeavors.

How did you find your way into the scouting field? I'm working on a sports and recreation management degree but wonder if I should change to journalism. I don't really know anyone that can just get me an internship but scouting any sports is really the job I've wanted since being a teenager.
