My sports fanhood life has been all about timing.
My dad was born and raised in San Leandro, just outside of Oakland. Fortunately for me, Al Davis moved the Raiders to LA, my dad got red-faced angry and I was raised a 49ers fan.
Whew, that was close.
In 1995 we moved to Seattle. The Mariners went on a magical run and 15 years later I'm still hooked. The magic can return now. No, seriously.
The timing thing has worked against me, too. I was so mad at the Mariners I didn't renew the domain for my Felix Hernandez blog that I poured a large number of hours into. Then he won a Cy Young, and my first thought was "I should blog! ...oh, wait." The baseball Gods don't like quitters.
I coach a Junior High team. I watch more baseball than is healthy. I write, I blog. A true junkie. I'll take it in any form.
Hey, would you be able to send your e mail to klangan@omnipossible.com? I want to get the B/R community leaders on a mailing list for a press release on behalf of Sports Media 101.
Thanks
Hey Alex,
I really like your writing about the Mariners.
I was wondering how you became a featured columnist for the Mariners. I noticed that lots of other teams have more than 1 featured columnist and I'm definitely interested.
Is there someone I need to email?
Hey Alex,
I thought you might be interested in my response to Mr. Thorn's "Farewell to Stats" piece:

Loved your last comment to me, Alex. What a great reply from someone whose greatest contribution to this world will be as a poster child for abortion. Thanks for telling me I'm super cute by the way. Maybe we can go out on a date.
On your shortlist you say the Most Unbreakable Sports Record - Lou Gherig's hit streak... don't you mean Joe Dimaggio? or perhaps Lou Gherig's consecutive game streak which dubbed him the nickname "iron horse" ... anyhooo I would love to see Ichiro beat Dimaggio's record...
Your analysis of the Houston Astros young talent that failed to analyze anything and questioned whether the team was run by monkeys was completely juvenile. Are you four years old?. Nothing like a pathetic swipe at a team to substitute for professional journalism.
Happy New Year! Check out my first article of the year 2011! Comments, retweets, likes, anything appreciated! http://bleacherreport.com/articles/568726-wwe-what-was-the-point-of-nexus-edition
