James currently volunteers as:
- The Head Coach for an Atom Level (age 11-12) Tackle Football team
- The Head Coach for an Indoor Youth Football team
- A Physical Activity Advisor for the Regional Municipality of Niagara

James also holds a black belt in Wado Kai karate (21 years) and had previously worked for over 15 years in the Fitness Industry.
