Benjamin's Bio
*Note as of July 7th, 2009
Well, work and school kicked my butt the past several months, but I'm going to try to get back into writing some informative articles for Bleacher Report!
1988 - Game 7 of the NBA finals between the Detroit Pistons and the Los Angeles Lakers is where it all started. My first sports memory was of Isiah Thomas trying to score one last time as the LA crowd rushed the court. Depending on your point of view, that's either when my true calling was recognized....or when my life went down the drain. I prefer the former statement on most days.
At the time my family were Michigan transplants to Southern California. My family as a whole were huge sports fans, but it was spread out between various members (my uncle the basketball and hockey nut, my mother the college football fan, my father the baseball nut, my step-father the pro football fan, etc.). I soaked up all of their passions, and added a few of my own along the way.
The final result? - Someone that has watched and read about more sports in the last 20 years than most sports fans will in their entire lives (I still don't know if that's something to brag about).
It's been a dream of mine to be a sports journalist, maybe that starts here! I will combine my sports knowledge along with my strong writing skills and my great sense of humor (well, I've been told it was great....and I just won a $10 bet for putting that line in my bio) and put forth my best effort into producing some great reading material for whomever is interested.

Benjamin,
Please check out my latest article. I list an over/under prop bet for each NBA team pertaining to their respective season.
Even if you just comment with one prediction, I'll be thankful you did.

Hey Benjamin,
Would like to know what you think about my latest article involving the hype of Louisville. I, for a fact, have something to say about that.

Thanks a lot for both the rankings and the kind words you posted on my profile. I got a MRSA (a staph infection resistant to antibiotics) infection and got to spend the week in the V.A. hospital w/ a couple of surgeries. I was rough-housing w/ my dog and accidentally stepped on his paw; he barely bit me; it was more like a puncture and he immediately pulled away. Amazingly, that tiny puncture nearly cost me my arm!
Anyway, I collected about 15 people's rankings and have compiled them ... it's just a matter of figuring out how to present the rankings after more than a week of games have gone by since they were published. Of course, if you have any good ideas that I can steal (and credit you, of course ;), I'm all ears. ;-)
I'll probably hold off on a new set of rankings until next week (Tuesday), but plan on going full speed ahead at that point.

Hey Benjamin, just a reminder that if you want to participate in this week's conference rankings, please leave a list (comments completely optional) either on my profile or email to nathanmedic2003[at]yahoo.com by 7 am tomorrow morning.
Same deal as last week -- you can rank up to ten, but don't feel like you HAVE to have ten, if you don't want to go that high.
What a week of upsets, huh? Including my Tar Heels. =(
Thanks for participating last week -- we had 11 last time and a few more have expressed interest, so I'm hoping to get it up to 15 this week. =)

Hey Benjamin,
I've decided to go ahead with the idea for doing a compilation of people's conference rankings. I'd love to have you participate if you're interested! The article about it is at
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/97928-take-two-call-for-your-ncaa-basketball-conference-rankings
and you can email me your rankings at nathanmedic2003@yahoo.com (or just leave them on my profile). Ideally, you can submit a top-10, but it's perfectly acceptable to submit a top-5, top-8 or whatever you're up to. Feel free to let me know what you think, and I hope you'll weigh in!
The Big Ten needs some representation! ;-)

Thanks for the fan pick. Here's hoping for a Lions win, followed by a house-cleaning off-season.
