About

Greg Pinto is a featured columnist for the Philadelphia Phillies, dedicated to uncovering all Phillies-related topics, including breaking news, the latest in free agent and trade rumors, full post-game recaps and analysis, news and notes on all Minor League squads, and a look back at the organization's lengthy history.

Greg's dual passion for both writing and journalism first came to a creative outlet during his high school years, where he served as a sports columnist for Ss. John Neumann and Maria Goretti High School's award-winning newspaper, the Crown.

His interest in the study continued to grow, and upon graduating high school, Greg attended his Freshman year of college at Philadelphia University, where he studied Professional Communications. Now, he is a student at Temple University, studying to become a full-time journalist with an emphasis on sports writing.

Being a columnist for Bleacher Report has opened a number of new avenues for Greg. He has interviewed some of baseball's up-and-comers, like Texas Rangers' prospect Drew Robinson, as well as some of the game's all-time greats, like former MVP of the Boston Red Sox, Fred Lynn. He has covered the Phillies live from Citizens Bank Park and was a guest on CSN Philly's web-show, Lunch Break.

Thanks for that comment on my Nats-Phillies Rotation article, Greg. It was thorough and you brought up several good points.
I enjoyed the point-counter point you started.

Do you tweet your article links from your Twitter account? And if not, will you? I absolutely love reading your Phillies stuff and if you could tweet it (I subscribe to you), I could read your articles right from my phone. Just a suggestion. It will also get you more reads.

I imagine the fact that I can't even write on Todd Washburn's bulletin board to respond to him should be all you need to know, but if it makes you feel any better... No, I don't remember you.

FYI on another one the Phillies are going to make a mistake on.

Jason Grilli is about to sign for the remainder of the year to be a set up guy in the Pirates pen.

The Phillies are idiots for keeping Carpenter and bringing up a Mathieson a few times when both have either been marginal or have sucked where as Grilli has been great so far this year since the beginning.

The only two negatives this year for him are that he was was injured earlier this year with a lat pull and he does have a habit of whining to the press like he just did this past week when the Pigs were in Syracuse about not having a job with a major league team.
