Marisa's Bio

My name is Marisa & I'm a huge sports fan from NJ. I have to thank my friend from the mid-west (Jeff) for telling me about this site and suggesting that I write for it because of my deep love of sports...baseball in particular.

I did my undergrad at Drew University and got my degree in English. I've been writing since I was six years old, and I'm hoping to combine my passion for sports and writing into a career.

The Yankees occupy a lot of my time but I also like football & college basketball too. To me, baseball is timeless and I love that despite all the chaos that tends to surround the sports world, there is still the simplicity of the game.

  4. Hey,
I don't usually post articles on people's boards, but I don't know if this slideshow will get views unless I share it with people. If you have time, check this out. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/257298-rosh-hashanah-sports-figures-who-have-should-take-some-time-to-repent

  7. Hey

After Vernon Gholston finally showed some promise last night, I wonder why Jets fans refuse to give him any credit or be encouraged by the step in the right direction.

    Thanks in advance.

  8. Former MLB player Eric Karros called my article into question on Colin Cowherd's ESPN Radio show yesterday.

He challenged me for a re-do: but here's my response.

I assure you, it's not just a ridiculous personal attack, but it shows that Karros was off-base with his statements.

  9. Hey, this is a article that I'm particularly proud of, and I think you will enjoy it. It looks at some of the strangest injuries to ever occur in baseball history, there certainly are some strange ones.

As always any feedback/support would be appreciate, and would like to get this article around BR, so if you could tell a friend who might tell a friend. Then that would be really appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

  10. The Yankees have put together an unbelievable streak of magical wins, but is Yankee Stadium and its short right field porch New York’s “magic wand?” Can sitting back and waiting for a solo HR really translate to October success?

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/234903-yankees-late-inning-home-run-magic-simply-a-bronx-illusion

Thanks in advance! I would love to hear your feedback and comments. Take care.

  11. The new Yankee Stadium had been criticized for its lack of intensity and electricity in the early months of the season, but this weekend’s series against the Red Sox finally make a familiar place seem like HOME.

Thanks in advance, and I would look to hear your opinions and feedback. Take care.

  12. Much has been written about the Steelers, the 1970s, and their use of steroids. The current public perception is the Steelers began and glamorized the use of roids in the 70s. Read my article to find out who one man, with 4 NFL teams, spread the use of steroids throughout the NFL, beginning in 1963, and see just how pervasive roid usage was by the time the Steelers began their decade of dominance.
