Silver's Bio

Originally from Georgia, I am now living in North Carolina. My favorite sports teams are the Georgia Bulldogs, Carolina Panthers, and Atlanta Braves. Tiger Woods is my favorite athlete.

I love sports and especially enjoy watching NFL and NCAA fooball, and college basketball on TV. However, I keep sports in perspective as I don't take sports or games too seriously. I am a loyal fan and when my team loses, I may become sad but I don't get angry or bent out of shape about a loss. Sports is entertainment and an escape from reality. Sports, to me, are about fun, sportsmanship, effort, and class.

The NFL is easily the best of all professional sports/leagues. It is our national pastime and favorite sport. The league is very well promoted and presented. The game is played at its highest level. The NFL has the edge over the very exciting NCAA football mainly for two reasons: (1) playoffs and (2) superior talent.

NCAA Football is my second favorite sport/league after the NFL. In most cases,. a single NCAA football game is more exciting than a typical NFL game. However, the NCAA football season gets dilluted with the silly beauty contest, called bowls, rather than having a logical 8 or 16 team playoff system. The NFL talent and level of play, especially the defenses and special teams, are obviously at a much higher and competive level.

NCAA Men's Hoops is my favorite brand of basketball. March Madness is the best and most exciting month of all of sports. While not as talented as the NBA, college hoops (both men's and women's) maximizes their talent, presentation, and appeal while the NBA minimizes theirs.

    I was just reading a comment you wrote on the Favre Jets trade and wished the Jets luck. I have a great deal of respect for sports fans that wish other teams luck, it shows a lot of class.
