Great list Tom. Really good job. Would have loved to see 3 time All- American UGA Player David Pollack on that back 50 list, but I know you have to stop somewhere.
Amy, Amy, Amy, you do watch football right? I really enjoy your articles, but you are a little shortsighted on the SEC and on UGA and Richt in particular. USCe will not lose to Vandy. You said last week UGA would lose to Coastal Carolina whom they beat 59-0. UGA will also beat Ole Miss. LSU will beat WVU. UGA is not a great team, but they are very good. They should have beaten USCe and lost to a very good Boise team. We'll see how the season plays out. They will not lost to Ole Miss though.
Outstanding list on the 50 most historically significant football games. It's really hard to argue with any of them. A few others that come to mind. The last minute pass from Belue to Scott for UGA over UF that set up UGA's national championship during Herschel Walker's freshman year.
Penn State over Miami for the MNC. Miami in Combat gear. Penn State in Navy blazers. Big time underdogs squek it out.
Alabama over Miami for teh MNC. Again, underdog story.
I agree about the NU-OK 1971 game. Hard to leave that one out.
