An Arsenal supporter and a huge soccer fan and player
Hey dude, just read (and left a comment on) your article. Thought it was well-written, (almost) neutral and expressed a lot of the opinions people have been struggling to get out these last few days.
There will always be people who respond with personal attacks rather than arguments. I find the best thing to do is to either ignore them or leave a message saying something like "Thanks for your input". That leaves them feeling like a w***er, and shows everyone else that you are a level-headed individual.
For example, take this article I just put out.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/692252-barcelona-issues-read-real-madrid-manager-jose-mourinhos-five-steps-to-success
The first comment I got was from some die-hard Barca fan (what he was doing reading the Real Madrid page I have no idea) who gave me the usual "How dare you even address our great noble fearless lion-hearted spectacular oh-so-attractive captain..." etc etc etc.
I know it's frustrating, but just keep in mind there are a bunch of us who know the time and effort that goes into an article like that and appreciate your work. Ignore the rest.
Keep up the good work dude. Cheers!
