Nick's Bio

My name is Nick. I love all kinds of sports and writing about sports in general. In particular, though, I bleed Yankees pinstripes and Giants blue.

I also follow NASCAR quite a bit— I am an avid Mark Martin fan, and I follow Jack Roush's teams pretty closely as well (it almost seems like I'm going against my Yankees fandom with that, considering they are Roush FENWAY Racing!)

Nick Writes About

The Short List What Nick thinks about sport's most pressing questions

  • Favorite Athletes

Eli Manning, Derek Jeter, Joba Chamberlain, Mark Martin

  • Favorite Sports Teams

New York Yankees, New York Giants, New York Knicks, New York Rangers

  • Favorite Coaches

Tom Coughlin, Bill Walsh, Vince Lombardi, Joe Torre, Mike Scioscia, Joe Maddon

  • All Time Sports Moment

Super Bowl 42 - Eli to Tyree

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

9/10/06 - The Manning Bowl. The first of hopefully many more in the future.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

DiMaggio's 56-game hit streak. I don't think anyone will come even close to it these days.

  • Ruth or Mays?

Yankees bias aside, I gotta say Ruth. Hands down.

  • Unitas or Montana?

Montana. Always kept a cool head under pressure and overcame so many doubters on his way to the top.

  • Jordan or Russell?

MJ. When the average person thinks about basketball, the first person they think about is Jordan.

  • Gretzky or Orr?

Gretzky. Again, some NY bias, but not much.

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

    Tiger is a machine. Unstoppable.

  • Petty or Earnhardt?

Tough call, but I'm going with The King, Richard Petty. Both he and E had 7 championships, but Petty had 200 wins vs. Earnhardt's 76.

  • Schumacher or Senna?

Schumacher. Again, one of the most dominant F1 drivers ever.

  • Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

SEC. Every game is near-pro caliber, no matter what sport.

If you have read this before, then I apologize, but please considering donating at least $1 to Make a Wish in the memory of Josiah Herring. In light of several recent events I felt compelled to revisit cancer awareness and have not had the time for a new article. I Promise to have a new article out soon in support of the cause.
